Southern terminus. Antebellum architecture and Mississippi River bluffs.

🎡 Emerald Mound

Second-largest ceremonial mound in the country. Built ~1300 AD by ancestors of the Natchez people.

🎡 Mount Locust Historic Inn

One of the last surviving stands (inns) from the Old Natchez Trace era.

📸 Sunken Trace

A preserved section of the original Trace, worn deep into the loess soil by centuries of foot and hoof traffic.

🎡 Rocky Springs

Ghost town site with an 1837 church still standing. Once a thriving community wiped out by disease and erosion.

🏙️ Ridgeland (Jackson metro), MS

Reservoir town on the north side of Jackson. Nearest big-city services.

📸 Cypress Swamp

Boardwalk through a tupelo-cypress swamp. One of the most photographed stops on the parkway.

🎡 Meriwether Lewis Monument

900-foot paved trail down to a two-tier waterfall on Jackson Branch.
